The Sinfonietta is a global network of all-women orchestras renowned for reimagining the music of popular culture in a symphonic setting.

From performing the opening to the Tony Awards to headlining the Hollywood Bowl, the Sinfonietta’s modern and innovative creative direction has positioned it as an industry leader across film concerts, brand partnerships, recording work, and live events, and has expanded to include a portfolio of ensembles around the globe. The Sinfonietta was founded in 2020 by Egyptian-American Orchestrator Macy Schmidt (who was recently named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 List for her work with the Sinfonietta). Since teaming up with industry veteran Colleen McCormack to grow the company, the orchestra has collaborated with pop stars such as Renée Rapp, Laufey, Brandy and Jordin Sparks. In 2023, the Sinfonietta presented an all Arab women orchestra in Abu Dhabi for the Forbes International Women’s Day Gala honoring world leaders Hillary Rodham Clinton, Gloria Steinem, Malala Yousafzai, Billie Jean King, and Ukrainian First Lady Olena Zelenska. Recent feature films and live score events include: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Cowboy Bebop, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Disney and Pixar’s Coco, and Barbie The Movie: In Concert.

As a production company, the Sinfonietta has partnered with brands such as Condé Nast, HSBC, Microsoft, Bloomingdale’s, MAC Cosmetics, and The Atlantic Magazine to create original commissioned content. The Sinfonietta’s management division has worked with clients such as Louis Vuitton and the United Nations.
